Day 22: rustling up with another avocado, pastry, meat balls

jus rol jalousieFirst off we made some more colombian eggs; this time with avocado!
We decided to make curry with the lamb meat balls. We dont tend to use made sauces but have made an exception for these We had some impulse bought big shallots so we peeled them and got them cooking lunchtime. Later we added some defrosted frozen pepper slices. We roastedthe meatballs so they wouldnt just dissolve and added them, the sauce and a couple of frozen spinach bricks and let it simmer. Mbh served it with rice and a teeny omelette to use up the egg wash below. 

The pastry we made an apple jalousie with : a ridiculously easy pastry thing that can be used for sweet or savoury dishes. Hope fully i've liked to a watercress, blue cheese  & egg jalousie so you can see how to plus that recipe is really nice. 
Thats mbh's thumb. Not the best one we've made tbh. Check out the jus rol website for instructions! We used an egg wash to stick it together and wash the top which we also sprinkled with poppy seeds. The filling was made with 3 simmered cooking apples with sugar, cinnamon & nutmeg and onedessert apple chopped for texture.
